堅山南風　筆　燕子花小禽図幅でございます。
燕子花はこの時期、5月から6月に見ごろを迎えます。作品では右上から中央にかけて柔らかい葉が交わり合い、そして下部に濃い青色の花(燕子花)の枝の上で羽を休めている一羽のセキレイが描かれております。これからの初夏の季節に美しく咲く燕子花を良く描いております。

Iris usually blossoms from May to June in Japan. There is a small bird that looks at a iris flower and some slender leaves in the painting. This painting has good expressions of the iris in the beginning of the summer.
